texas hill country: bluebonnet season

We drove up past Navasota, TX with some friends this past weekend. They have family land up that way, and we wanted to find some open fields of bluebonnets! It's probably my favorite time of year in Texas.

Lucky for us, their land was covered with them! It was stunning.

Here are a few pictures from our day...

Ask my husband, and he will tell you straight up--I'm not one for maternity pictures, but he was insistent that I take a couple with the bluebonnets. I'm really glad I listened to him, because I love having these pictures. I may feel like a beached whale, but it will be nice to remember that beautiful day when I was 28(almost 29) weeks pregnant...

and next year we'll be able to bring baby girl with us!

His classic "high-jump" pic. One of these days I'm going to make a collage of all his high-jumps from around the world.
